Winter is on its way. Is your car ready for what colder weather brings? Winter can do a number on your vehicle, and some of the problems that colder temperatures cause can be subtle yet devastating if ignored. Fortunately, we're familiar with preparing Anson drivers for winter weather here at our service center, and we're ready to help you whip your car into shape. So, if you're eager to check some winter maintenance items off your to-do list, we're here to help!

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for winter driving:

Battery Check

Extreme changes in temperature can suck the life out of your battery. If your battery seems weak in summer, there's a good chance that it won't make it through winter. We can conduct a voltage test to see if your battery is strong enough.

Light Check

It gets dark earlier in winter, which means that you'll likely spend more time driving around after the sun has set. Now is a good time to check your lights to make sure that you don't have any foggy or burnt lights.

Tire Pressure Check

Changes in temperature can affect the air pressure in your tires. As things cool off outside, you might find that your tire pressure drops. Be sure to check your tires periodically (at least once a month) and adjust tire pressure accordingly to ensure that you don't drive on underinflated tires.

Pack a Roadside Winter Emergency Kit

Taking care of your car is important, but you have to take care of yourself as well! We recommend packing an emergency kit with items like jumper cables, blankets, warm clothes, and nonperishable food and drink items. This is especially important if you plan on traveling somewhere with heavy snowfall.
